Mortar Analysis

Mortar analysis and mortar testing of cement are designed to identify the mortar composition ratio of cement mortars and lime mortar. These testing methods are used for all types of masonry repair, but are mainly used for commercial masonry repair and historic mortar restoration. City engineers, architects, and restoration contractors commonly use this service and make the mortar from the formula in our mortar analysis report.

Mortar matching or mortar color matching is generally used when assistance is needed to match mortar color, or when ordering color matched mortar from us for your repair. Many masonry repair companies and homeowners use this service daily and order custom bags of mortar.

Our repair mortars or tuck point mortar are bags of mortar mix for repointing that are custom made for a particular masonry mortar repair. While these are most often used by homeowners and residential repair contractors, they are used for other masonry restoration and historic masonry repair. If your project requires a lot of mortar repointing, this is not cost effective. You may be better served to get the mortar formula.
